FAQ + UPDATES

MAY 14, 2026: Plants are going in! Now that the weather is nice (and hopefully more consistent??), we will begin planting our beautiful native plants in the front of the property. We are doing this work ourselves, so sorry in advance for the potentially slow process 😉 We’ve chosen a collection of native, low-water perennials that are an essential pollinator habitat. Plants include Beard-lip Penstemon, Giant Sacaton Grass, Prairie Sage, and Smooth Aster. They’ll be small to start but hopefully growing by the end of the summer (and even better next year).

MAY 8, 2026: We have officially received Site Plan approval from the Town of Erie for our future space at 365 Briggs Street in downtown Erie! This is a huge step for us and we are so thankful for the excitement and support we are receiving from the Town. This approval allows us to move forward into the next phase of the project, including construction, permitting, accessibility improvements, and exterior site work.

April 1, 2026: The official site plan has been submitted to the Town for approval of our plans for this creative space! We are anxiously awaiting feedback and any changes necessary to ensure this space is perfect for our artists.

January 20, 2026: Architecture plans are in full swing! We need to make LOTS of decisions before submitting our Site Plan to the Town for approval for this new space. We are deciding on outdoor lighting, landscaping, wall removals, trash enclosures… oh my!

You HAVE QUESTIONS, WE HAVE (SOME) ANSWERS.

  • We are aiming for Fall 2026! This has been delayed a few times due to unexpected construction bumps and bruises, but we are still pushing along!

  • Cor Arts will primarily function as a pottery and laser-based studio.

The studio is owned and operated by Erie resident, Jillian Jensen. Jillian will actively work out of the studio, so you’ll often see projects in progress—from clay pieces drying on shelves to laser-cut designs being developed and sold.

  • Cor Arts is an active studio where art is made on a daily basis by owner, Jillian Jensen. You can see her work at www.jillianjensencreative.com. While you visit, you may see pottery in progress, lasers in use, and works drying on shelves.

This isn’t a gallery-only space or a staged art classroom. It’s a real studio first, which means it can feel lively, creative, and occasionally a little messy in the best way.

  • Workshops vary month-by-month but will include:

    • Pottery (hand-building, decorative pieces, functional ware)

    • Laser and mixed-media projects

    • Beginner-friendly creative classes designed to be social and approachable

Workshops will be designs for both adults and children.

Jillian has been hosting art workshops out of her Longmont studio for over a year. You can see the variety of classes that have been offered there on EventBrite - workshops will be similar at Cor Arts!

  • Yes! We are planning to offer private events like birthday parties (kids & adults), bridal showers, anniversaries, book clubs, etc. Events will include the space for 2 hours and a themed art-activity. Our capacity has not yet been determined.

  • Yes! Cor Arts will have a retail section that will feature handmade work by owner and artist, Jillian Jensen, including ceramics and minimalist and meaningful art created in the studio.

Over time, the retail area will expand to include work from other local artists as well.
